Welcome to the South Hams e-bike Club

We have set up a club for people interested in leisure cycling and having fun regardless of the style or type of e-bike you own. The aim of the club is to facilitate group rides and encourage participation amongst members getting more people out on e-bikes and discovering the health and social benefits of e-biking. It is completely free to join and updates and news about events are shared here on this page and through our Facebook page

UPCOMING RIDES:

December’s Christmas ride was a great success with 18 participants enjoying a tour around the Slapton area and lunch at the Queens Arms. Thanks to Julie McCoombe for organising this.

JAN 2023 RIDE – TBC soon

We encourage all members to organise their own rides and post invites on the Facebook page – please keep us in the loop if you are planning to do this so we can help where necessary.

Please call us on 01548 859745 or e-mail to register your place

Club Information

Rides

We aim to hold an organised ride once a month or so, usually between October and March depending on the weather and work commitments. The local rides will usually be between 15 and 30 miles in length and take between 2 and 5 hours stopping for refreshments at least once along the way. We aim to use smaller, quiet roads for as much of the ride as possible.

Pace and Culture

The priority of the club is enjoyment and participation which means we will always ride to the pace of the slowest rider. If numbers are high we may split the groups to reduce road congestion and manage pace.

Refreshments

We aim to stop for a tea/coffee and/or lunch depending on the time and distance of the route.

Equipment

Anyone without an e-bike can hire one free of charge thanks to the wonderful support from the South Hams Community Recovery Grant. We will also supply hi-visibility vests and have loan helmets and locks available to everyone.
